The Story Behind Gemini Show Lambs
Family-Owned & Operated Lamb Breeder
Gemini Show Lambs is a small lamb operation in central Texas, near Waco. Gemini Show Lambs was founded in 2017, when my sister and I bought a group ewes for our senior year. We have been involved in showing livestock since we were in the 3rd grade, but our early days involved showing pigs, not lambs. Our sophomore year of high school, we showed our first lamb and we’ve been in love ever since. We both received our American FFA degree for our SAE experience outside of high school, through raising show lambs.
Over the years, our flock has flourished. What began as 5 ewes has grown into a thriving operation boasting a herd of 30 ewes, each carefully chosen for its genetic potential and the qualities which we place of utmost importance: structural integrity, attractiveness and muscling.
Yet, our journey isn’t solely defined by our own successes. Alongside our pursuit of excellence, we’ve discovered a profound joy in sharing our knowledge and expertise with others. Whether it’s offering advice on selection, providing guidance on nutrition and care, or simply lending a helping hand in the show ring, we find immense fulfillment in supporting young showmen on their own journeys.
Today, our show lamb business stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication, our boundless passion for agriculture, and our commitment to nurturing the next generation of showmen and women. With every lamb born on our farm, we’re reminded of the journey that brought us here and inspired by the road that lies ahead.
